Code of Conduct

Effective 10th November 2019

We welcome thoughtful and educated discussions from a broad spectrum of viewpoints. We value perspectives which can educate and/or start meaningful conversations. However, to maintain a welcoming environment in which our learners and instructors feel safe, we prohibit certain conduct.

This document is subject to change at the discretion of ProjectFunction.

Inclusivity is a strong part of ProjectFunction. We believe that everyone (including Instructors and Learners) has the right to take part in courses and events run by ProjectFunction, in a safe and welcoming environment.

ProjectFunction, its members, and participants are all required to use neutral language when communicating with each other. This is important as it helps to show respect and mitigates the risks of accidentally offending anyone.

  1. Do not use “Guys”, “Girls”, “Ladies”, or “Gentlemen” to refer to anyone.
  2. Opt for using “They” and “Them” pronouns, instead of “He” or “She” unless otherwise instructed.
  3. Avoid using patronizing/condescending language, such as “Don’t question it, just do this”.

Anyone who is asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately. Sponsors, venue staff, Instructors, Lead Instructors, Management, volunteers, and anyone else at ProjectFunction and its online communities are also subject to the anti-harassment policy.

Harassment includes but is not limited to:

  1. Offensive comments,
  2. Verbal comments or,
  3. Written comments related to:
    1. Gender,
    2. Age,
    3. Sexual orientation,

    6. Physical appearance,
    7. Body size,
    8. Race,
    9. Religion,
    10. Deliberate intimidation,
    11. Stalking,
